Minimum Qualifications
Adult Services Team Critical Care Nurse
- Current registration or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (CCRNS)
- BScN/BN (candidates with commensurate experience and education will be considered)
- Critical care nursing certification
- A minimum of five years clinical experience in health care with a minimum of three years critical care experience in a tertiary care or high volume centre
- Must maintain active employment in a critical care setting
- Strong practical knowledge of ICU practices and pharmacology
- Current Certification of BLS-C and ACLS
- Exhibit strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Compliance with the EMC/EHS LifeFlight Weight policy
- Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs independently
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical appraisal completed by a physician approved by EHS LifeFlight
- Able to work in a rapidly changing environment and in the confines of the transport vehicle (Ambulance, Helicopter, or Fixed Wing aircraft)
Adult Services Team Critical Care Paramedic
- Current registration or eligible for registration with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia as a CCP
- A minimum of five years clinical experience in health care with a minimum of three years pre-hospital as an ACP or greater in a tertiary care centre or high volume ground ambulance system
- Must maintain active employment in a critical care setting or a high volume ground ambulance system
- Current Certification of BLS-C and ACLS
- Exhibit strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Compliance with the EMC/EHS LifeFlight Weight Policy
- Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs independently
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical appraisal completed by a physician approved by EHS LifeFlight
- Able to work in a rapidly changing environment and in the confines of the transport vehicle (Ambulance, Helicopter, or Fixed Wing aircraft)
Children's Services Team Neonatal/ Pediatric Critical Care Nurse
- Current registration or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (CRNNS)
- Currently employed at the IWK Health Centre for a minimum of one year
- BScN/BN (candidates with commensurate experience and education will be considered)
- Current BLS-C, Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
- Exhibit strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Team Leader/Charge nurse experience required
- Minimum of three years current neonatal/paediatric critical care experience, with at least six months (fulltime) in each speciality of neonatal and Paediatric intensive care. Completion of level II PICU orientation and NICU intensive and ‘e’ orientation mandatory
- Physical wellness (ability to lift 50lbs independently)
- Compliance with the EMC/EHS LifeFlight Weight Policy
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical appraisal completed by a physician approved by EHS LifeFlight

Children's Services Team Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Currently employed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at the IWK Health Centre.
- Minimum 3 years experience neonatal/paediatric critical care
- Employed at the IWK Health Centre for a minimum 1 year (full time) as member of the Neonatal Team responding to the Birth Unit
- Current BLS-C, Paediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification
- Exhibits strong leadership, communication, critical thinking, collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Physical wellness (ability to lift 50lbs independently)
- Compliance with the EMC/EHS LifeFlight Weight Policy
